Toronto tendered contracts to each of its four unsigned arbitration-eligible players on Friday, preventing them from hitting free agency.
The deadline for teams to tender contracts to their arbitration-eligible players arrived Friday at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT. If clubs tendered their contracts, they are able to negotiate contracts with the players through Jan. 9. If they don’t come to terms on a deal, they will be scheduled for an arbitration date to decide their 2026 contracts.
Varsho: $9.7 million
Lauer: $4.4 million
Clement: $4.3 million
Heineman: $1 million
Dillon Tate, Nick Sandlin and Ryan Burr also entered the off-season eligible for arbitration. But the Blue Jays cut ties with all three, and they are currently free agents.
Last season, the Blue Jays came to terms with each of their players and avoided going to any arbitration hearings.
