A nationwide recall has been announced after small pieces of plastic were discovered in a popular food item sold across Canada. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says the affected product may pose a potential health risk if consumed.

What’s being recalled
The recall involves Yoplait-brand YOP Drinkable Yogurt in 200 mL bottles, covering multiple flavours including:

Blueberry
Strawberry
Strawberry Banana
Birthday Cake
Vanilla
Banana
Raspberry
Peach
Yuzu Mandarin
Tropical
Mermaid Blackberry Starfruit
Lactose-Free Strawberry-Raspberry
Lactose-Free Mango

Multi-pack formats such as 6-packs, 12-packs, and 15-packs are also included. All recalled items carry best-before dates up to and including January 12, 2026.

Why the product is being recalled
Officials say the product may contain pieces of plastic, which could cause injury if consumed. The CFIA has classified it as a Class 1 recall, the most serious category. No injuries have been reported to date.

What consumers should do
People who purchased the recalled item should:

Not consume it
Throw it out or return it to the place of purchase
Check any multi-packs already stored at home

Ongoing investigation
The CFIA continues to monitor the recall and warns that more products could be added if additional issues are found.

The recall applies nationwide, including retailers throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
