Kevin Durant will miss out on the chance to play against two of his former teams.

The Houston Rockets forward is set to miss the next two games against the Phoenix Suns on Monday and Golden State Warriors on Wednesday to tend to a family matter, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Sunday.

These will be the first two games Durant has missed this season.

Durant, 37, has remained productive in his first year with the Rockets, averaging 24.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 48.5 per cent from the field and 36.4 per cent from three-point range.

The 15-time all-star was traded from the Suns to the Rockets in a blockbuster seven-team off-season deal that saw Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks head to Phoenix.

Monday’s game against the Suns would’ve been Durant’s first game back in the desert.

Durant, who won two titles with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018, last played in Golden State on Jan. 31 of this year in a 130-105 win for the Suns.

The Rockets have impressed in the early goings this season, winning eight of their last ten games en route to a 10-4 record and fifth in the crowded Western Conference.
