The official name for a new WWE tag team featuring Dominik Mysterio has been confirmed ahead of a big upcoming match.
In recent months, Dominik Mysterio has developed a friendship with El Grande Americano, which has led to some question marks from Mysterio’s fellow Judgment Day members.
Mysterio seems to be getting closer to Americano and further away from Judgment Day as time progresses.
That’s been very evident in AAA, where Mysterio and Americano have become regular tag team partners, including a win in the main event last night at Alianzas against Dragon Lee and El Hijo Del Vikingo – though that was largely thanks to Vikingo attacking his own partner.
Leading up to that match, Mysterio and Americano drew comparisons between themselves and legendary AAA team Los Gringos Locos, consisting of Eddie Guerrero and Art Barr.
Mysterio even wore new ring gear paying homage to the duo – and now things have gone a step further.
In AAA’s official announcement of the upcoming Mysterio & Americano vs Lucha Brothers match, Mysterio and Americano have officially taken on the name Los Gringos Locos 2.0, as AAA tweeted:
At Guerra de Titanes on December 20, it will be the Lucha Brothers vs. Los Gringos Locos 2.0. 🔥
The Lucha Brothers – Penta and Rey Fenix – reunited for the first time since joining WWE and issued the challenge, with Mysterio accepting.
While all this is happening, Mysterio is also set to challenge John Cena in an Intercontinental Championship rematch at Survivor Series on November 29.
