Nov. 23 (UPI) — SpaceX launched another 28 satellites into low-Earth orbit early Sunday morning, with the possibility that residents of southern California were awakened by the sonic boom in the middle of the night.

“There was a possibility that residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties may have heard one or more sonic booms during the launch,” SpaceX said in a statement. “What residents experienced depended on weather and other conditions.”

SpaceX said it launched the satellites from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California around 12:48 a.m. PT.

The launch marked the first flight for the first-stage booster supporting this mission, SpaceX said. The first stage later landed on a floating barge stationed in the Pacific Ocean.

The launch was previously delayed from Nov. 19. The payload for the launch included 28 Starlink V2 Mini satellites.
