Blue Ivy Carter, 13, enjoyed a girls’ night out to see Kelly Rowland perform on November 9.She was joined by her mom, Beyoncé, and her grandmother, Tina Knowles.Blue is not only taller than her mom, but is also a spitting image of Beyoncé.
Blue Ivy Carter made a rare appearance alongside her mom Beyoncé, grandmother Tina Knowles, and Beyoncé’s longtime best friend and Destiny’s Child group mate Kelly Rowland—and Blue is not only taller than Beyoncé, but she is her twin.
Knowles shared the photo of the group—which also included Victoria Monet—backstage at the Los Angeles stop of Rowland’s The Boy Is Mine tour on November 9. The group was photographed in Rowland’s dressing room, according to Knowles, who tagged Rowland and sweetly wrote, “we are with our Kelly❤️.”
Beyoncé—who is interestingly wearing a press pass as if she’s, you know, not Beyoncé—also shared photos of herself with Rowland from the same evening, writing alongside her Instagram carousel, “Drip broke the levee when my Kelly’s roll in.”
Blue wore a forest green skirt suit, complete with a pleated skirt and a matching blazer over a green top, all in coordinated shades. The 13-year-old added a pair of black sunglasses, hoops, and a necklace to complete the preppy-coded look.
Beyoncé’s look was also a suit, hers from Italian brand Elisabetta Franchi and featuring a plunging white top connected to black pants. She wore gold jewelry—including a chain link necklace, rings over her sheer black gloves, and a bracelet—as well as a quilted black purse, sunglasses of her own, and a loose black bowtie.
Knowles wore an embroidered denim coat and matching denim pants, while Rowland wore an oversized beige blazer, a cropped tan skirt, and matching pants.

Both Blue and Rowland were part of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour, Blue dancing behind her mom—as she did for the Renaissance tour that preceded it—and Rowland as well as fellow Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams performing at the final show of the tour back in July. It was the first time that the Destiny’s Child trio had reunited in seven years, and the threesome performed their hits “Lose My Breath,” “Say My Name,” and “Soldier.”
As previously mentioned, Blue is now taller than Beyoncé, which the latter told Entertainment Tonight, “I don’t like it at all” (per Hello!). Blue’s November 9 appearance—which was shared on social media on November 23—followed the teenager’s appearance alongside her mom and her dad Jay-Z to honor her grandmother at the Angel Ball in New York City, which raises money for blood cancer research. For that event, Blue wore a satin baby pink gown and a string of diamonds, which she paired with a matching light pink feather boa to honor Knowles, who was honored for “her extraordinary impact.”
Knowles previously told People that she wasn’t sure if Blue would follow in her parents’ musical footsteps, telling the outlet, “I don’t know if that’s her passion.”
“She can do so many things,” Knowles added of Blue. “She can paint, she writes poetry—anything she puts her mind to do, she’s good at. So I don’t know what she’s going to do.” She continued, “I think she would be great at music. [She] would kill it. But I don’t think that that’s her passion.”
In addition to dancing for both the Renaissance and Cowboy Carter tours, Blue also appeared alongside her mom at the NFL Christmas Day halftime show in 2024, and sang alongside Beyoncé on 2019’s “Brown Skin Girl.”

Beyoncé told GQ in 2024 that it was Blue’s decision to join her on tour—something Beyoncé was initially against. “Blue is an artist,” Beyoncé said of her eldest child. “She has great taste in music and fashion. She is a fantastic editor, painter, and actress. She’s been creating characters since she was 3. She’s a natural, but I did not want Blue onstage. Blue wanted it for herself.”
“She took it seriously, and she earned it,” the proud mom added. “And most importantly, she had fun! We all watched her grow more and more every night before our eyes.”
