Darrington Press has announced Daggerheart:  Hope & Fear, the first expansion set for its card and dice role playing game. Both standard and deluxe versions will be offered in summer 2026.

Launched earlier this year (see “Darrington’s ‘Daggerheart’ Revealed”), Daggerheart is a campaign-centric fantasy role-playing game that combines dice-based and card-based mechanics.  The Hope & Fear expansion set expands the game’s world-building and character-creation options with additional material for both gamemasters and players.

Gamemasters can explore over 130 new adversaries, new environments, and four new campaign frames with custom mechanics. Players have four new character classes to choose from:  Witch, Warlock, Brawler, and Assassin, as well as new communities, ancestries, and gear options, plus a new set of Dread domain cards and Transformation cards to support the new Werewolf, Demigod, and Vampire heritage options.

The standard version of Daggerheart:  Hope & Fear will include a 200-page rulebook, a rip pad of blank adversary sheets, and a deck of cards for the new playing options.  MSRP is $39.99.

The expanded deluxe version packages the components in a gold-foil box, with alternative cover art and compartments for the accessories, and adds a new GM screen, fear tokens, a set of 18 custom dice, and rip pads of character sheets, player guides, and maps.  MSRP is $119.99.

Earlier this year, Darrington announced new class-specific card decks for use with the game (see “Darrington to Offer ‘Daggerheart Class Packs’”).
