17-year-old Brent Crews will slide behind the wheel of the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra, nearly full-time, for Joe Gibbs Racing during the 2026 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season. Crews, who is ineligible to compete in four races early in the season due to his age, will make his season debut at Circuit of the Americas on February 28.

Crews, a native of Davidson, NC, became eligible to make his series debut at COTA when NASCAR relaxed the age eligibility requirements for road courses and short tracks in the series to 17 after the end of the 2025 season.

After sitting out the events at Daytona International Speedway (February 14), EchoPark Speedway (February 21), Las Vegas Motor Speedway (March 14), and Darlington Raceway (March 21), Crews will run the duration of the season.

The young racer, who has shown an incredible ability to compete on road courses, is thrilled with the chance to compete for Joe Gibbs Racing this year in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to be able to race with a winning organization and Toyota,” Crews said in a team press release. “I’ve learned a lot so far with the ARCA program and at the track with the No.19 team. I have a lot to prepare for this season, but I feel con?dent with all the resources that JGR and Toyota provide to help with an easy transition.”

Prior to his move to the NASCAR National Series ranks, Crews became the youngest ever champion in the Trans-AM TA2 Series in 2023. The following year, Crews took home the World Series of Asphalt Super Late Model championship, and he collected three wins in the CARS Tour ranks, which earned him Rookie of the Year honors.

Additionally, Crews has the distinction of being the youngest-ever driver to win a POWRi National Midget Series race, which he accomplished at the age of 13. And Crews also has 12 national championships in karting on his racing resume.

Driving for Joe Gibbs Racing in the ARCA Menards Series in 2025, Crews captured victories at Phoenix Raceway, IRP, and Bristol, and he also added a win at Springfield behind the wheel of the No. 70 Nitro Motorsports entry. To say Joe Gibbs Racing is excited to add the talented young racer to its fold would be an understatement.

While he’ll miss a few races at the start of the season, it’ll be interesting to see how the 17-year-old stacks up against the competition when he gets behind the wheel for the first time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at COTA in February.
