With the lack of news and developments from the Vancouver Canucks in their pursuit of upgrading their forward group for the 2025-26 season, writers at Canucks Daily have put together a trade proposal that would see the organization acquire Dmitri Voronkov from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Now that the offseason is well underway, the majority of NHL clubs have been making moves left, right and center, but the Vancouver Canucks are well behind the eight ball when it comes to this
Canucks Daily’s Trade Proposal for Columbus Blue Jackets forward Dmitri Voronkov
With no progress, the Canucks may have to look back at the trade market in order to find a solution up front, and the writers at Canucks Daily put together a hypothetical proposal that could see the organization acquire forward Dmitri Voronkov from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Although having a breakout sophomore season in 2024-25, his Russian counterpart Kirill Marchenko‘s season overshadowed that of Voronkov and emerged as a core piece for Columbus last season, which could make Voronkov expendable to a trade.
Columbus Blue Jackets Receive:
– Conditional 3rd-round pick in 2026
(Incentive based if Voronkov nets 20+ goals or 45+ points next season)
Vancouver Canucks Receive:
– Dmitri Voronkov, 24 (C/LW, 6’5″, 23 goals)
Hopefully Vancouver can get the idea to target the young 24-year-old as he holds tremendous upside for the future.
He is big, physical, two-way center with strong defensive instincts and upside who just had a solid rookie season with the Columbus Blue Jackets (18 goals, 34 points in 75 games). He’s under contract at a bargain $1.125M AAV through 2025-26, making him especially valuable.
