The Ottawa Redblacks have signed Canadian receiver Ethan Jordan, sources have confirmed to 3DownNation.

The 23-year-old won the Hec Crighton Trophy this season as the top player in U Sports football, becoming only the eighth receiver ever to do so alongside a group that includes current Argonauts standout Kevin Mital and longtime Saskatchewan star Andy Fantuz.

Jordan caught 68 passes for 1,066 yards and 10 touchdowns with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks in 2025, helping the team reach the Yates Cup for the third-straight year. The speedster set a new all-time Ontario University Athletics (OUA) record for most career receptions with 239. He also sits second in career receiving yardage and touchdowns.

The native of Chatham-Kent, Ont. was selected in the sixth round of the 2025 CFL Draft by the Redblacks and began the season on the team’s practice roster before returning to school for his final season of U Sports eligibility.

The five-foot-eleven, 175-pound target ran a blazing 4.44-second forty-yard dash at the CFL Combine in Regina, placing second in that event.

The Ottawa Redblacks finished fourth in the East Division standings in 2025 with a 4-14 record, missing the playoffs for the fifth time in the last six seasons. Dru Brown went 2-7 over nine starts at quarterback, throwing for 2,389 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Dustin Crum went 2-4 over six starts, throwing for 1,771 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions.

The Redblacks ranked sixth in net offence, fifth in net defence, and ninth with a turnover differential of minus-16. The club’s leading rusher was William Stanback with 698 yards, leading receiver was Justin Hardy with 1,019 yards, and leading tackler was Adarius Pickett with 84 tackles. Ottawa finished eighth in attendance with average crowds of 18,136, which was a 4.2 percent decrease from the previous year.
