The Saskatchewan Roughriders continued to fortify the trenches this week, locking in a pair of impact linemen who bring size, experience, and plenty of upside to Riderville.

The Green and White announced the signings of National defensive lineman Liam Hoskins and American offensive lineman Darius Washington.

Drafted in the fifth round (43rd overall) of the 2025 CFL Draft, Hoskins arrives in Saskatchewan with a reputation as a high-energy disruptor. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound defender spent five seasons at the University of Windsor, suiting up for 44 games and filling the stat sheet in just about every category a defensive coach could ask for.

The London, Ontario native piled up 126 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, three interceptions, seven pass deflections, and a fumble recovery over his collegiate career. But what really jumped off the tape in 2024 was his ability to collapse pockets. Hoskins racked up 30 quarterback pressures, earning invitations to both the East-West Bowl and the CFL Combine.

He’s athletic, he’s active, and he’s proven he can be a problem behind the line of scrimmage, precisely the kind of player Corey Mace loves to unleash.

On the offensive side, the Riders are bringing back a familiar face.

Darius Washington, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound lineman, returns to Saskatchewan after appearing in four games during the 2025 season. Before his first stint with the Roughriders, he attended rookie mini-camp with the Denver Broncos, but it’s his college résumé that really stands out.

Washington was a model of consistency and durability at Florida State, dressing for 57 games and starting 47 times across six seasons. He became just the second Seminole ever to start in six consecutive seasons, lining up at left tackle, right tackle, and even centre. In 2024, he anchored the line with 10 starts at left tackle and earned the school’s Bill McGrotha Award for his humanitarian contributions.
