It’s been over a month, 37 days in fact, since Ineos Grenadiers’ last transfer announcement with the news that Embret Svestad-Bårdseng had signed a three-year deal.

That move had been on the cards for months – we’d reported on it happening during the summer – but since then, the British WorldTour squad haven’t announced a single rider. They have not publicly announced a new sports director; we still don’t have official news that Geraint Thomas has started as the team’s Director of Racing; and there have been no formal updates on their U23 team for next season.

Silence from Ineos is to be expected, and it shouldn’t ring the alarm bells. In my experience, they tend to be relatively reserved in their communication with the media.

But it’s on the transfer market where we’ll focus our attention, with details on where it all stands with Sam Welsford in particular. Right now, according to PCS, Ineos Grenadiers have 22 riders on next season’s roster. That includes new arrivals Dorian Godon, Kévin Vauquelin, Theodor Storm and Svestad-Bårdseng.
