The vacant WBC Silver light heavyweight title is on the line on Nov. 29, as reigning IBF International light heavyweight champion Ben Whittaker takes on Benjamin Gavazi at bp pulse Live Arena in Birmingham.

Because of his undefeated record, Whittaker heads into the match as the heavy favorite with -1660 boxing odds, while Gavazi is going to be the overwhelming betting underdog with +800 odds. A draw result has odds of +2000.

Ben Whittaker vs. Benjamin Gavazi: Prediction

My prediction is a TKO/KO finish for Whittaker in under five rounds against Gavazi, since he’s much faster and packs more power in his punches. His best combination is the one-two punch, which he likes to fire three or four times in a row.

Aside from the gap in speed, Gavazi is also a flat-footed boxer who lacks footwork and often gets caught at the tail-end of combinations because he doesn’t have enough footwork and head movement to avoid punches coming into his way.

The biggest threat to Whittaker in this fight is his tendency to showboat, as he loves entertaining the crowd. This makes him open to counterpunches and quick jabs. But because of his athleticism and outstanding head movement, he gets away with it.

Despite this colorful personality of Whittaker inside the ring, he still manages to win his matches through the power he possesses. Additionally, he targets both the head and body of his opponents, making his attack more unpredictable.

Ben Whittaker’s Recent Fight Results

Whittaker was a former Olympic silver medalist before he became a pro fighter. He has had 10 fights in his career so far, with nine wins and one draw. In those victories, he amassed an impressive 67% TKO/KO rate.

In his last five fights, he won against Khalid Graidia, Leon Willings, Eworitse Ezra Arenyeka, and Liam Cameron. His lone draw during this stretch was against Cameron in their first meeting in October 2024, which ended in a technical draw.

Benjamin Gavazi’s Recent Fight Results

Gavazi is a German boxing champion who dropped his first pro fight in 2018 to Rostam Ibrahim. Following that setback, he went on to win his next 19 fights, recording an impressive 68% TKO/KO rate.

In his last five bouts, he scored wins over Andreas Masold, Serhii Ksendzov, Yassir Ahmed Malik, Jackie Merife, and Branimir Malenica to capture the BDB International light heavyweight and WBC International Silver light heavyweight titles.
