Black Friday is here, and Magic: The Gathering fans have plenty to get excited about. Walmart has rolled out deals on a range of MTG booster boxes, from superhero-themed Marvel sets to the epic Final Fantasy collaboration: and if you’re not a fan of Universe Beyond, the classic planeswalker-friendly Tarkir collection.

Whether you’re a collector chasing rare foils or a player looking to spice up your next draft night, each set has its own flavor and strategic approach. Let’s break down what’s on offer.

Magic: The Gathering: Final Fantasy Collector Booster Box

The price of Final Fantasy Collector Booster boxes is absurd. We mean it – you shouldn’t spend this much money on cardboard. And yet, people do, because the Final Fantasy set is packed with extremely rare variants of extremely popular characters. If you’re committed to grabbing a Collector Booster Box, whether to crack or hold, Walmart is selling it for $999.99 – a mind-blasting price, but still below the market rate on price trackers MTG Goldfish and TCGPlayer.

If that’s too rich for you, a much more reasonable Play booster box is also on sale from Walmart for $147.94, down almost a Benjamin from its regular price of $240.42.

Magic: The Gathering: Marvel’s Spider-Man Play Booster Box

Marvel’s Spider-Man is the least popular of the Universes’ Beyond sets so far – but the four player ‘quick draft’ format isn’t the broken mess some people have made it out to be. It’s fun, it’s just not very deep – but then again, as it’s so unpopular, it’s likely you haven’t drafted it at all. And it’s really easy to set up a four player draft with your commander pod.

And of course if you want to build a Spider Man themed booster box commander deck, look no further – Walmart is selling a box of play boosters at $114.99 instead of $159. Get the deal here.

Magic: The Gathering: Tarkir – Dragonstorm Play Booster Box

If Spider-Man showed how easily fans could reject Universes Beyond sets, Tarkir Dragonstorm shows how much life there still is in classic MTG sets. Admittedly, some of that life was a bit too vibrant for Standard – *cough* Cori-Steel Cutter *cough* – and now that the most problematic card in the set has been banned the price of booster boxes has dropped overall.

But this is a complex and rich set to draft, packed with fun commanders for your existing decks or for making a booster-box commander deck, and there’s a chance of opening a valuable fetch land in the ‘special guest’ slot in each pack. Booster boxes are on sale on Walmart for the particularly tempting price of $98.99 right here.

We don’t know exactly how long these Walmart Black Friday deals are going to be up for – likely while stocks last, which may not be very long. If you’re thinking of grabbing one, make sure you don’t miss your chance.
