The First Lady’s new documentary has been in the works since November 2024.

Not much is known about what exactly will be in the film; however, she did tease some details to Fox and Friends earlier this year.

“[It is] day-to-day life, what I’m doing, what kind of responsibilities I have,” she said.

Melania said the documentary will focus on “the transition team to moving to the White House, packing, the First Lady’s office, and establishing her team.”

A production insider previously told The U.S. Sun that Melania sees the documentary as the best way to show who she is.

“Melania wants people to know who she really is,” the source previously told The U.S. Sun.

“She’s a private person, but she is very happy to be back on the spotlight in that project, and she thinks that doing a documentary is the best way to talk about herself and her life in a deep way – in a deeper way than just public appearances or interviews.

“She knows what she wants, and she is a boss, that is for sure,” the insider added.

The insider said Melanis was very engaged and constructive with the production crew to make the best documentary possible.

While the documentary will focus on the First Lady, other members of the Trump family will also appear.

What we know about Melania’s documentary

Little has been revealed about the first lady’s upcoming project, but here’s what we know so far:

Amazon reportedly purchased the documentary for $40 million
Disney gave the next highest offer with $14 million and Paramount followed behind with an offer of $4 million
Melania described the film during a Fox & Friends interview, saying: “It’s day-to-day, from transition team to moving to the White House, packing, establishing my team, the First Lady’s office, moving into the White House, what it takes to make the residence your home, to hire the people that you need.”
The First Lady will reportedly get 70% of the $40 million deal
An Amazon spokesperson said there will be a short theatrical release followed by a Prime Video release
The movie will be out January 30, 2026

President Trump, the couple’s son, Barron, and other family members will be featured in some scenes.

“Barron loves that his mother is doing a project like this and despite being shy, he is going to be in many parts of the documentary,” the insider said.

Melania is reportedly very excited about the role and has shared a lot about the “life of the First Lady” with production.

The mother and former model told the production team lots of “information about how life is in the White House,” according to the insider.

“She shows us a lot of details of the White House life, about what she loves about her function and life, but also the role model she is for other women and her family,” the insider said.

“We are getting inside things about her life, how she sees herself in this powerful environment, but also how she is as a mother, and the love she has for Barron, the support she shows to him 24/7, being also a role model for him.

“There are also some moments with her husband, and Donald is not taking too much spotlight because he knows that this project is important for her.”

The insider said the president offers insight into their relationship in the White House and their life at Mar-a-Lago.
