First Lady Melania Trump said Friday that she has launched a production company, Muse Films, news that comes ahead of the release of an Amazon MGM Studios feature documentary about her.
The doc, titled Melania, is being directed by Brett Ratner and will hit theaters January 30 in the U.S. and select international territories. That will be followed by an exclusive run on Amazon’s Prime Video.
Muse Films was announced today on Trump’s official social media channels where she posted a motion video of the logo.
Muse was also the Secret Service code name for Trump during Donald Trump’s first term in office.
Amazon acquired rights to the doc in January of this year. It will offer behind-the-scenes look at the 20 days leading up to Donald Trump’s 2025 inauguration through the eyes of the First Lady.
Amazon said the doc will step inside Trump’s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family. With exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments, the film showcases Mrs. Trump’s return to one of the world’s most powerful roles.
Melania is an executive producer of the pic alongside New Element Media’s Fernando Sulichin. Production began in December 2024.
A resident of the White House launching a production company is not totally unprecedented. Barack and Michelle Obama launched Higher Ground Productions, though that came after Barack Obama’s second term had ended. Its first production, the Netflix documentary American Factory, won the Documentary Feature Oscar in 2022.
