Steamboat Tennis and Pickleball Center is holding its tennis center grand opening celebration at 5 p.m., on Dec. 1. The celebration is open to the public and will feature free court time, food, beverages and other tennis centered activities.
Since July, the complex has replaced its exterior membrane and insulation, updated lighting and resurfaced and repainted indoor tennis courts. It’s estimated that the whole project will cost $2.8 million.
The last step of the renovations is refurbishing the welcome center and is expected to cost $800,000. Included in the welcome center is a new mezzanine, front desk area, pro shop and locker rooms. The center is partnering with Yampa Valley Gives to raise the funds needed.
“We are close to completing the renovation, and our hope is that the community will help us reach the finish line,” said Tennis Center Executive Director Meg Tully. “This project will support youth, adults and seniors in the community and beyond.”
