Gianluigi Donnarumma appears to be edging closer to a departure from Paris Saint-Germain, with a contract extension now considered highly unlikely. Two clubs are currently leading the race for the Italian goalkeeper.

Talks have stalled between the 26-year-old and the Champions League winners over a potential renewal. With his current deal set to expire in June 2026, the former AC Milan shot-stopper is reportedly unwilling to accept a new contract with a reduced base salary.

As a result, PSG have opened talks with his potential successor, Lucas Chevalier, who has agreed to join the club until June 2030. According to Foot Mercato, a verbal agreement has already been reached between PSG and Lille.

Meanwhile, Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri has reported via X that a meeting is scheduled “this week” between PSG officials and Donnarumma’s camp to finalise the goalkeeper’s departure. Tavolieri adds that PSG will not stand in the way of the transfer, with Chelsea and Galatasaray said to be the two most serious contenders.

Of the five main clubs reportedly interested in Donnarumma — Chelsea, Inter Milan, Galatasaray, Manchester United and Manchester City — Chelsea are currently viewed as the most suitable destination for the Italian.

At Manchester City, uncertainty remains around Ederson’s future. According to Nicolo Schira on X, the club’s hierarchy has yet to decide whether to part ways with the Brazilian, who is reportedly open to a move to Galatasaray. Furthermore, with City closing in on a deal for Burnley’s James Trafford, a swoop for Donnarumma would appear increasingly unlikely should Ederson stay put.

With Manchester City’s interest unclear, Chelsea and Galatasaray are emerging as the frontrunners. However, Chelsea are believed to hold the advantage at this stage, with the Premier League side considered a more attractive option than the Turkish outfit on all fronts.

#Ederson is still #Galatasaray’s main target as goalkeeper. The brazilian has given his availability for a contract until 2028. Gala are now working to try to reach an agreement with #ManchesterCity, which have not decided if selling him despite Trafford’s signing. #transfers https://t.co/i9YYthmAI9
