TKV saw a point deducted early on for repeated low blows, but had enough in the tank to outlast Clarke and claim the Lonsdale belt at the second attempt after his controversial stoppage defeat in April by David Adeleye, who later vacated. He moved to 9-2, while 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Clarke dropped to 9-2-1 as a professional after a second loss in his last three outings following that brutal early stoppage defeat last year in a rematch with now WBO champion Fabio Wardley that left him requiring jaw surgery.
