Let’s be real here, what we used to know as advent calendars as children, the ones filled with chocolates and sweets, are no longer like that. Rather, luxury brands have started putting together advent calendars, filled with 24 pieces that can be opened once a day in the days leading up to Christmas. And that level of consumerism isn’t for everyone – but, it doesn’t mean that the idea of opening something and revealing it once a day in the lead-up to Christmas isn’t just as fun.
And there’s one festival in the Czech Republic who don’t want people to miss out on the fun, so, in the lead up to Christmas, they’re doing an advent calendar of their own.
The evening before each new day and the subsequent reveal, Rock For People are releasing a small hint on social media – usually in the form of emojis – to get people enticed, and the first hint is currently live. Tomorrow, on the 1st of December, you can visit the festival’s website, click on the corresponding date, and have the next band addition to the line-up revealed.
More specifically, as explained in the most recent Instagram post, that:
“The traditional and favourite Advent calendar is here!
So, shall we get started? ????
To solve each day’s riddle – we’ll give you emojis as a help – it can be the BAND’S NAME, AN ALBUM, OR A SONG – creativity mode on and LET’S GO!
And at 00:00, [it is shown] on our website www.rockforpeople.cz.
And who wants/needs to get some sleep – the next day [the next hint is available] at 10:00 here on our social media. ????”
The first hint uploaded to social media earlier today contained the shouting emoji, and the purple smiling devil emoji. Fans are guessing Bad Omens and Knocked Loose, but the most popular guess appears to be Mötley Crüe because of their song titled, “Shout At The Devil.”
Well, we shall know by tomorrow morning or not the guesses were correct, and the next clue.
