Danielle Collins opened up about the challenges of dating after becoming successful as an athlete. The 31-year-old felt it’s difficult for a popular woman to date a man and attributed it to a narrowed dating pool. On the other hand, she felt the dating pool in infinite when a man is successful.
“I feel like when you’re successful as a guy, the number of people that flock to you is like infinite. You have a lot more options when you’re successful as a guy, but as a woman, when you start to become more successful, it narrows down the dating pool by a lot,” Collins said on the Nothing Major Podcast.
“And I feel like men can feel intimidated sometimes by successful chicks. I don’t know why that is, but I feel that’s definitely valid for a lot of my friends. I think it takes a special person to date a professional tennis player, male or female, just because we travel so much and our lives revolve around our careers,” the WTA star added.

Collins felt there’s a need for the life partners to be selfless when their partners are successful and have a lot of factors to consider, such as diet, training, traveling, logistics, and so on. She also felt the need for partners to be supportive to help their partners accomplish what they want to.
“Every aspect, from when we go to bed to what we eat, training, all of the logistics that go into it. So, you really have to be with someone who’s selfless in that way and understands that we have a short window to accomplish what we want to accomplish,” she concluded.
