Trade partners are starting to emerge for the Vancouver Canucks, and one that has sparked news recently is the Philadelphia Flyers.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman linked the Philadelphia Flyers – and former Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet – as a team to watch when it comes to Vancouver and their available veteran players on Monday morning’s 32 Thoughts – The Podcast:

“Vancouver has players that Rick Tocchet likes. I don’t know if it’s [Kiefer] Sherwood; it would fit. But, nobody knows the Vancouver players better than Tocchet does, right? A couple people have said to me, ‘You better keep an eye on Philly when it comes to Vancouver’s players.’ And we’re not even talking about [Quinn] Hughes – everyone likes Hughes, and I don’t think anything’s going on there right now. But as the Canucks talk about some of their veterans, the questions you should be asking is: what veterans there, does Tocchet like?”

There has been no official link to Sherwood and the Flyers. But first-year Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet spent the previous two-and-a-half seasons in Vancouver and is familiar with the Canucks roster.

Philadelphia is off to an impressive start to the season. Their 14-7-3 has them in the top Wild Card spot and just three points off the Metropolitan Division lead. They are a team to watch when it comes to some of the reportedly available Canucks players.
