Drake Maye continues to up the ante in this absurd second year in which he keeps one-upping himself.

The 23-year-old delivered a few more jaw-dropping passes in yet another stellar performance as his MVP candidacy rolls on.

There are plenty of valid reasons to nitpick what the Patriots have done this season, but none of that matters if Maye keeps playing like this. Against the Giants, he completed 24-of-31 passes for 282 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.

The Patriots don’t have much of a running game, and yet it doesn’t matter with Maye playing this well.

He dropped another deep ball into a perfect spot in the first half for a 33-yard touchdown to Kyle Williams, but that wasn’t even the most impressive aspect of his performance. What stands out with Maye is how much the game has slowed down for him in his second NFL season and how much of a command he has.

Maye was great at helping manage weaknesses on the Patriots’ offensive line (with their starting left tackle and left guard out), draining the play clock late in the game, and protecting the football.

This was just another great game in a great season for Maye.
