Canadian-American linebacker Kyler Laing has been added to the 2026 CFL Draft class, per his Montreal-based agent Fred Weinrauch.

The six-foot-two, 245-pound defender has spent the last two seasons at Mercyhurst University, an FCS program located in Erie, Pa. He recorded 45 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, four sacks, one pass knockdown, and one interception over 17 games.

Laing started his collegiate career at the University at Buffalo where he made 28 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery over 23 games at defensive end. He was named fourth-team All-MAC by Phil Steele in 2021.

The native of Tallahassee, Fla. qualified for Canadian status through his father, Trace, who was born in Jamaica but raised in Mississauga, Ont. Trace played for the Toronto Argonauts at defensive tackle in 1994, recording two tackles over five games.

Laing is the younger brother of Trey Laing, who was a seventh-round pick of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 2025 CFL Draft. He was released partway through training camp and has remained a free agent since.
