RUSTON – Louisiana Tech’s Oskari Schuvalow was named a 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar, announced Tuesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Schuvalow, an upcoming junior from Helsinki, Finland, holds a 3.75 grade point average while majoring in Finance. He appeared in 12 events in his first season with the Bulldogs as a sophomore, registering a stroke average of 74.94 over 35 rounds.
The 2025 CUSA Academic Medalist and CUSA Commissioner’s Honor Roll recipient as well as a College Sports Communicator Academic All-District honoree posted 12 rounds at or under par, with a season-best finish of 12th at the Linger Longer Invitational.
This marks the sixth straight year LA Tech has had a Bulldog named an All-America Scholar. Schuvalow becomes the eighth such Bulldog to receive this academic award.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate’s degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
A total of 556 NCAA Division I student-athletes from 190 schools earned 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.
