The WNBA has exploded since the 2024 draft, which is not so coincidentally when Indiana Fever star point guard was selected with the number one overall pick. Since her arrival, Clark has helped the league usher in record attendance and television viewership, and the league is adding new franchises at a rapid pace.
Clark’s peers are even aware of the enormous impact she’s had. Take this statement from Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier.
“The amount of money that Caitlin Clark has made the league is insane, and she’s getting 0% of it because we have no revenue share. She gets less than $80,000 a year, and she’s bringing in, like, hundreds of millions of dollars. It’s insane,” Collier told Glamour magazine.
Unfortunately, Clark’s second year in the WNBA saw her sidelined for the majority of it thanks to various injuries, including a groin that kept her out of all of the second half of the season.
Clark should be able to focus on her recovery so that she can be ready for the start of next season. Unfortunately, she has been struck by tragedy.
Clark took to Instagram to share that her dog, Bella, has passed away.
“we are gonna miss you puppy 💛 gave us so many good memories 💛,” she wrote. “not much changed in 9 years 💛💛”
Caitlin shared on Instagram that her dog Bella passed away. One of her Kobe PEs last season featured Bella, with a nod to her golden coat and pink tongue.
She scored a season-high 32 in them, including the iconic back to back to back threes vs the Liberty. RIP Bella ❤️🩹🐾🥺 pic.twitter.com/ZMJbsDADWm

Hopefully, Clark takes as much time as she needs to grieve before returning her focus to basketball.
