It’s been a long time coming, or many, many days for Chrystal’s electro pop anthem The Days to make into an end of year top songs list.
Written in 2015 but not released until last year when Bristol based DJ Notion produced this remix, The Days made it into the top 5 in the UK, Australia and Ireland, thanks in part to going viral on TikTok.
Chrystal tells the Official Charts Company that when she came up with the beat for the song, she wanted it “to be something that would go off in the club or at festivals.”
After sitting on the song for nine years, Chrystal finally got around to uploading it after being encouraged to do so by family and friends, along with a heap of other material she had in her vault.
“When they saw I’d finally done it, they were so happy,” she tells the Official Charts. “When it first got a few thousands views, we were buzzing about it!”
And it’s now Radio 1’s 20th biggest song of 2025, I imagine there will be quite a party in Bolton tonight.
