Sault Area Hospital Foundation and Henderson Metal surpassed their goal of raising $50,000 on Giving Tuesday toward a TeraRecon server, a critical piece of equipment for medical imaging.

The fundraising effort brought in $77,235.

“Giving back to our community is incredibly important to us at Henderson Metal,” said Tyler Spahr of Henderson Metal.

“We were truly rooting for our community to step up and match the effort – and they didn’t just meet the challenge, they exceeded it by far.

“The generosity we witnessed this Giving Tuesday is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together. We’re deeply grateful for everyone who contributed and helped make a meaningful difference,” Spahr said.

The TeraRecon server is a high-powered analysis tool that helps doctors see medical images with more detail, faster, and from multiple angles. This advanced capability supports quicker, more precise diagnoses and can reduce the need for more invasive procedures.

Following is the complete news release:

Sault Area Hospital Foundation and Henderson Metal set a goal to raise “$50K in a day” to fund a new TeraRecon server on Giving Tuesday (Dec. 2).

Every donation made on Giving Tuesday, up to $25,000, was matched, thanks to Henderson Metal. Not only was this goal met, but surpassed because of our generous community – a grand total of $77,235 was raised in just one day, more than fully funding the TeraReacon server.

The TeraRecon server is a critical piece of equipment in Medical Imaging. Additional funds raised will support the purchase of future equipment in Medical Imaging at Sault Area Hospital (SAH). Henderson Metal made an incredible impact on Giving Tuesday by leading the campaign with a $25,000 match. Throughout the day, Sault Area Hospital Foundation team members heard from donors that Henderson’s generosity and commitment to supporting local healthcare inspired them to give.

“We are so grateful to those who prioritized supporting local healthcare this Giving Tuesday,” said Teresa Martone, Executive Director of Sault Area Hospital Foundation.

“Every gift helps us keep patients close to home, especially during the holidays, when it matters most. Thank you to all who make this possible – including Henderson Metal for matching donations and inspiring others to join in.”

Funding the TeraRecon server is just a small piece of the work of the foundation – who commit to provide Sault Area Hospital with $5 million in funding for medical equipment each year.

If you would still like to give a gift this holiday season, there are many ways to still have an impact on local care. The Tree of Hope, located in the lobby at SAH, showcases hopeful messages of strength, love and gratitude for patients and staff at SAH. Please note the Sault Area Hospital Foundation will close for the holidays on Dec. 23 at 4:30 p.m. and reopen on Jan. 2 at 8:30 a.m.
