The Dallas Cowboys path to beating the Detroit Lions and staying alive in the NFC playoff picture just got more difficult.
Star receiver Ceedee Lamb suffered a concussion in the third quarter against the Lions and will not return, the team announced on Thursday.
Lamb fell hard on his head after attempting to make a leaping grab in the end zone.
When Lamb was ruled out, the Cowboys were trailing 27-16. A win keeps the team in the hunt for the playoffs, while a loss drops their chances down to nine per cent.
Lamb, a four-time Pro-Bowler, recorded six grabs for 123 yards before exiting. He totalled 744 yards and three touchdowns entering Thursday’s contest.
The Cowboys host Minnesota next Sunday night, giving the star wideout a longer week to potentially return to action.
