Manchester United saw the struggles at Old Trafford continue on Thursday night, failing to win a second game running at home.

It was another very poor outing from Ruben Amorim’s side under the lights of Old Trafford, adding to the pains and adding to growing discontent around the fanbase.

Manchester United have only won one game in the last five, including two without a win at home, and just one goal against two sides that should have been wins.

United’s 1-1 draw with West Ham lacked any urgency or bravery from the players or the head coach, with the intensity levels also poor, which resulted in the slim 1-0 lead being lost.

Speaking after the game, Roy Keane spoke out on United’s poor attitude.

It won’t come as a shock to hear Keane was annoyed after United’s 1-1 draw.

Roy Keane SLAMMED Mason Mount

“He was like a schoolboy out there. You’re looking for players to come on with a bit of presence and say, ‘Give me the ball.”

The club legend called out Mason Mount for his cameo, but also questioned the attitude of United’s players during substitutions, as he ranted on Sky Sports after the game.

“United were making substitutions, the manager is entitled to make substitutions. But I was looking at the players coming off, and it was like they’d won the league, they were just all chilling out, you go ‘it’s 1-0, get off the pitch, come on’.

“Show some intensity to your play when you’re defending set-pieces, the subs were coming on and it was all a bit like, ‘aye this is cool’, you can’t be cool when you are 1-0 up, get the job done.”

Keane was furious with this and rightly so, as United were really poor after scoring, failing to push on and make it an easy three points.

The players might have got criticism from Keane; however, Amorim’s substitute decisions have been terrible for a long time.

Ruben Amorim’s substitutions have cost Manchester United again

The Red Devils weren’t good enough against West Ham, really struggling during the game, but despite this, Diogo Dalot’s goal for United had the hosts en route to three points.

However, the moment Manuel Ugarte appeared on the touchline, any confidence in the Red Devils claiming three points immediately diminished.

At a time when United needed control in midfield to keep the ball and earn a win, Amorim instead decided to add some chaos into his midfield, and while it didn’t directly lead to the goal, mentally, the players never respond well to Ugarte’s introduction.

Kobbie Mainoo was right there for Amorim to play, yet he was ignored, which is just a confusing decision, as it might be the one addition to help United control games.
