Canada will play its first match of the World Cup against their Pot 4 opponent on June 12 in Toronto. The squad will then relocate to Vancouver for matches on June 18 against the Pot 3 opponent and June 24 against their Pot 2 opponent, with both of those games at BC Place.

The group winners, runners-up and the eight best third-place teams will all move into the knockout round of the tournament, which begins with a Round of 32 under the new 48-team format.

Canada currently sits at No. 27 in the FIFA Rankings, which was the lowest among Pot A teams. The United States entered the draw ranked 14th, with fellow co-hosts Mexico ranked 15th.

The 2026 tournament represents another chance for Canada to earn their first-ever points at a World Cup. The country went winless in 1986 and 2022, but have their highest-ever expectations under head coach Jesse Marsch this time around.
