John Cena will face either Gunther or LA Knight as his final opponent at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, and his dad isn’t thrilled about it.

Earlier this week, John Cena’s father, John Cena Sr., appeared on the All Axxess Podcast. He made it abundantly clear that he’s not in favor of Gunther being his son’s final WWE opponent. Stating he doesn’t believe it would be a wise move. Making it clear that The Ring General doesn’t need the rub of being Cena’s final opponent.

WWE Superstar John Cena recently appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience. During the podcast, Cena acknowledged his father’s recent comments regarding Gunther and admitted he wanted to call his father up and ask him what he was thinking.

“There’s some shit he’ll say that’s all f*cked up,” Cena admitted. “He said some shit yesterday that like, ‘I don’t think John’s last opponent should be–‘ and people listen to him because he’s a wrestling fan. He’s kind of in the weird subculture zeitgeist. And I want to call my dad and be like, ‘What the f*ck are you doing?’ But then, he’s doing what he does. This is him. This is the John Cena I love. And part of that is being able to process all of that.”

Cena’s final WWE opponent will be determined later tonight on SmackDown as Gunther goes one-on-one with LA Knight in the finals of the Last Time Is Now Tournament.

The match will take place on December 13 at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, DC. And despite what others are saying, Cena is steadfast on this being his final match.

WrestleZone will have live coverage of SmackDown later this evening.
