Welcome to live coverage of this year’s MLS Cup final

Vancouver hopes Whitecaps Cinderella season ends with MLS Cup win
Thomas Müller and the Vancouver Whitecaps are set to battle Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami this weekend for MLS’s top trophy. The final is being billed as a battle of the league’s two top stars, but at the start of the season few expected the Whitecaps to contend for the Cup.
Today’s championship match between the Vancouver Whitecaps and Inter Miami kicks off at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., at 2:30 p.m. ET, which is 11:30 a.m. PT for Caps fans back home.
This is Vancouver’s first MLS final, and the first time a Canadian team has played for the cup since 2019, when Toronto FC lost to the Seattle Sounders.
Today’s match will also renew the rivalry between veteran players Lionel Messi and Thomas Müller, who haven’t come face to face in the MLS since the German World Cup champion joined the Whitecaps earlier this year.
We’ll have live coverage of the match on this page, with reporters at Chase Stadium and B.C. Place Stadium in Vancouver.
