York Regional Police will be providing more details on Monday morning on an investigation into a string of violent incidents throughout parts of Ontario and Quebec.

The investigation, dubbed Project Wrangler, began in the spring of 2025 and involves incidents that occurred in southern and eastern Ontario as well as Quebec.

“The incidents included murder, attempted murders, attempted kidnapping, armed robberies, home invasions, vehicle thefts and more,” York Regional Police said in a news release.

York Regional Police Chief Jim MacSween, Peel Police Chief Nishan Duraiappah, London Police Service Chief Thai Truong, OPP Chief Supt. Karen Gonneau, and Chief Supt. Joe Matthews, of the Toronto Police Service, will be speaking on Monday’s news conference.

The event is expected to begin at York Regional Police headquarters in Aurora at 10 a.m.
