CFL punters Jake Julien and Nik Constantinou worked out for the New Orleans Saints on Tuesday.

Last offseason, Julien signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after working out for at least six NFL teams. The 27-year-old rejoined the Edmonton Elks following his release by the Bucs during NFL training camp in August. He punted 49 times for 2,503 gross yards, 1,980 net yards, while averaging 51.1 net yards per boot and made two special teams tackles.

Constaninou punted 90 times for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2025, averaging 48.3 gross yards and 38.0 net yards while landing 11 kicks inside the 10-yard line and scoring five singles. The 26-year-old Melbourne, Australia native was a first-round pick in the 2024 CFL Global Draft out of Texas A&M University. He punted 102 times for the Ticats as a rookie, averaging 47.1 gross yards and 36.8 yards net.

This was Constantinou’s second workout in the current offseason after going through a session with the Cleveland Browns. He tried out for six teams last offseason, including the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, and Buffalo Bills, but did not land a contract.

The NFL workout window opened on Monday, November 17. The window to sign with an NFL team opens January 5, 2026, and ends February 10, 2026, at 12:01 p.m. EST.

NFL teams must ask CFL franchises for permission to work out players, and the request cannot be denied. CFL players can opt out of their agreements north of the border if an NFL team offers a contract, though their CFL team maintains their rights through the duration of the voided contract.
