The BC Lions’ newly released 2026 Canadian Football League schedule confirms the team will return to Vancouver Island next year – but only for a pre-season matchup.
On Monday, the team released their schedule which features training camp and games in the Okanagan due to some World Cup games taking place at BC Place in June to early July. The schedule also has the Lions in Langford versus the Edmonton Elks on May 23 at Starlight Stadium.

Last season, the team hosted the Calgary Stampeders at the stadium in May for the league’s first pre-season game. Previously, the Lions hosted a regular season game versus the Ottawa Redblacks at Royal Athletic Park in 2024 as part of Touchdown Pacific.

Following the pre-season, the Lions open with a bye in Week One of the regular CFL schedule, followed with trips to Regina on June 13 and Hamilton on June 19.
The team then travels to the Okanagan for Touchdown Kelowna to host the Calgary Stampeders on June 27 and the Edmonton Elks July 4 at the Apple Bowl.
Once the team returns to BC Place in week eight, they are set to play the Toronto Argonauts on July 25.
The Lions finish out the regular season with a home game on Oct. 23 versus the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
