Mikel Arteta has done an incredible job at Arsenal.
The Spaniard was appointed as Unai Emery’s successor in December 2019, and he inherited a really poor squad with many players who were not good enough.
Arteta won the FA Cup in his debut season, and since then, he has transformed Arsenal into one of the best teams in the world.
Soon, Arteta could do something that has never been done before in the Premier League.
Max Dowman could help Mikel Arteta set an unprecedented Premier League record
Mikel Arteta has put a lot of faith in youth over the years.
Yes, players like Omari Hutchinson, Reuell Walters, Chido Obi Martin and Ayden Heaven have all departed because they couldn’t get opportunities, but many others have been given a chance.
Bukayo Saka had already made his debut when Arteta arrived, but the Englishman became the superstar he is today under the Spaniard.
Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri have become regulars now as well, despite being just 18.
The latter was actually given an opportunity when he was 15, thus becoming the youngest player to make an appearance in the history of the Premier League.
Arteta now has Max Dowman coming through the ranks and impressing in friendlies. He is expected by many to make his senior debut in the upcoming campaign.
If that happens, Arteta will become the first manager in Premier League history to hand debuts to two 15-year-old players.
Not even Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have done that in the Premier League before.

Nwaneri got his record-breaking opportunity off the bench during Arsenal’s win over Brentford in the Premier League back in 2022.
The youngster was 15 years, five months and 28 days when he got that opportunity, and he beat Harvey Elliot’s record at the time.
Dowman is 15 as well, but will he break Nwaneri’s record if he gets to make his debut against Manchester United in Arsenal’s opening game of the new season?
The answer is no.
Dowman is already older than Nwaneri was when he made his Arsenal debut in 2022. But, if he plays against United, he will rank just below his Gunners teammate and ahead of Jeremy Monga.
