The Montreal Alouettes and Canadian linebacker Geoffrey Cantin-Arku have agreed to a one-year contract extension. The 27-year-old was already under contract for 2026, but now adds on one more year for the 2027 season.

“Geoffrey has done a very good job since joining us and he deserves this vote of confidence,” said general manager Danny Maciocia in a statement.

“He keeps improving and taking on more and more responsibility. We are very pleased with this agreement.”

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound defender has not missed a single game in two years since being drafted in the first round (9th overall) by the Alouettes in 2024.

In 2025, he recorded 38 defensive tackles and six more on special teams. He also recorded four sacks, one interception, and forced three fumbles.

In his rookie season in 2024, the Lévis, Que. native collected 38 total tackles, along with five sacks and an interception. He was also named the Alouettes’ rookie of the year.

At the collegiate level, Cantin-Arku spent two seasons with the Memphis Tigers. Prior to joining the Tigers, he played three seasons with the Syracuse Orange.

In May 2024, he received an invitation to the Miami Dolphins’ rookie camp.
