The New York Jets lost one superfan after falling to 3-10 and officially out of playoff contention with last Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins.
Ray Hoffman, a fan known as “Captain Jet” for the helmet and green cape he wears to games, wrote in a social media post he wouldn’t be renewing his season tickets for 2026.
“The captain can’t take no more,” Hoffman wrote, citing a season ticket price of $2600 for what he described as “that calamity they have been putting out there.”
The Jets opened the 2025 season on a seven-game losing streak. The team didn’t win a game until Oct. 26, and didn’t record a victory at MetLife Stadium until Nov. 9.
The team is now heading into the 2026 season facing a number of pressing questions, including who will serve as the team’s quarterback following struggles by Justin Fields and Tyrod Taylor.
The Jets may need to land big on what will be a high first-round 2026 draft pick in order to spark fan excitement for next season.
