Mikel Arteta has been speaking about the evolution of his Arsenal team and highlighted Max Dowman, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri as players who can help the team to keep moving forward.

Arsenal have one of the most exciting academies in Europe right now, with Hale End producing several top young talents.

Bukayo Saka has been the shining star from the list of academy graduates, but there is hope that Dowman, Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri can follow in his footsteps.

Arteta is really excited about where his Arsenal team is at present, but he is already looking ahead to the future and the next crop of stars to break through.

Mikel Arteta is excited about Max Dowman, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri

Mikel Arteta has revealed that he is ready to help Max Dowman, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri all become key players for Arsenal in the future.

The Spanish coach has already done exceptional work with the likes of Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and Jurrien Timber.

Assessing the current state of Arsenal’s squad, Arteta told TNT Sports: “Well, you can see the way the team competes and the way the individuals have evolved and matured, that’s something which takes time to get into that position.

“We look at Bukayo, and the amount of games that he’s played at his age or Martinelli or Saliba or Big Gabbi, Jurrien is 24 years old.

Could this be Arsenal’s starting XI in 10 years?

“That’s what we’ve been building, and now you have to keep building with them, but also with the ones underneath.

“So, Max, Ethan, Myles, all these players as well in one, two, three years, where are they going to be to keep making this team better. It has a timeframe, and I think, as you said, we are in a really good moment now.”

Right now, it’s fair to say that Dowman is the most exciting youngster at the club, as the 15-year-old is showing such promising signs at such a young age.

At the end of the month, Dowman is set to sign a new scholarship, with the Gunners desperate to keep hold of him.

Mikel Arteta needs to utilise Ethan Nwaneri more at Arsenal

It’s quite interesting to hear Arteta highlight Nwaneri, as the teenager hasn’t played a great deal of football this season.

The 18-year-old has found himself stuck behind Martin Odegaard and Eberechi Eze in the race for the number ten role in the team.

The Gunners now face a decision over Nwaneri and whether to send him out on loan during the January transfer window.

But given Odegaard and Eze have both been struggling, it would be great to see Nwaneri given a chance to prove himself at the Emirates Stadium.
