Florida Panthers defenceman Seth Jones is not expected to face supplemental discipline for what appeared to be an elbow to the head of Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brandon Hagel.
Jones was not penalized for the hit during his team’s 5-2 win on Monday night, while Hagel was shaken up and did not return after the third-period hit. Lightning head coach Jon Cooper did not have an update on his status post-game.
A total of 36 penalty minutes were handed out Monday as the Panthers and Lightning renewed their rivalry, which heated up last spring in a first-round playoff series between the two.
Not expecting Seth Jones to receive any supplemental discipline for the hit that knocked Brandon Hagel out of last night’s game.
There’s obviously a long history between the teams, and #TBLightning weren’t happy with the play.
