Denny Hamlin has a new focus after 23XI Racing, Front Row Motorsports, and NASCAR ended an antitrust lawsuit trial with a settlement. He wants an apology from some hosts on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.

The veteran driver responded to a post on X from Fox Sports analyst/SiriusXM NASCAR Radio host Larry McReynolds on Tuesday morning. He wrote: “Good morning. Now that the case is settled and the evidence is out will you or anyone on channel 90 be issuing an apology for what you all said about 23XI/FRM when the lawsuit was filed?”

Channel 90 is the home of SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. This channel holds multiple radio shows and podcasts discussing the biggest stories in the sport. McReynolds, in particular, co-hosts “On Track” with Danielle Trotta. PRN’s Brad Gillie also contributes as a co-host.

Hamlin provided more details about the specific comments he took issue with over a 14-month period as a legal battle played out. He said: “I believe it was ‘how dare them for trying to come in and change the sport. 23XI hasn’t been around long enough and FRM wasn’t good enough.’

“Also how about ‘I dont know what their problem is, 13 other teams signed it.’ Just to name a few examples.”

McReynolds has spoken fairly extensively about this lawsuit, going back to 2024 when 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports first filed it. In December 2024, in particular, he said that the two teams would “regret the day they did this” while referencing the lawsuit.

He added that he couldn’t make sense of suing a private company for how things are done and that most of the 13 other team owners would say they were mostly happy with the Charter Agreement in off the record conversations.

Based on testimony from Heather Gibbs and Richard Childress, this may not necessarily be the case. Both teams owners said during the eight-day trial that they had some problems with the Charter Agreement. They indicated that they “could not afford” to not sign.

Has McReynolds’ opinion changed one year later? Hamlin indicated that he hoped this was the case. As he said to one person on X, he believes that “once the actual facts and documents were released it was contradictory to the narrative that was being pushed.

“Larry is a very hard working analyst. Hopefully he took the time to analyze the situation post settlement and revise his thoughts.”
