Ukraine’s No. 2 tennis player Marta Kostyuk joined forces with British tennis player Katie Boulter to support the initiative to bring tennis into school programs across Ukraine.

According to the Ukrainian Tennis Association, the athletes posted a joint video on social media, and Katie Boulter urged her fellow countrymen to support Marta Kostyuk Foundation’s program.

«Together with Katie, we joined forces to launch Serve Hope – an initiative in the United Kingdom that supports the School Match Point program of the foundation. This program “brings tennis” directly into state schools of Ukraine, reaching communities that have been especially affected by the war.

While many Ukrainian children face disruptions to their education, a lack of a stable routine, and a sense of security, this project gives them what they truly need now: hope, stability, and the joy of sport.

Thank you to everyone who supports, shares, and helps this project grow. And a special thanks to Katie for her support. Her friendship and solidarity with Ukraine mean a lot to me»

The Marta Kostyuk Foundation is also expanding its reach: the “School Match Point” initiative began in Lviv and the Lviv region and is now operating in more than 15 public schools, reaching about 4,500 students.

According to the foundation, tennis is being integrated into the educational process at various levels across the country, guiding children and teenagers toward regular participation in sports.

Program Prospects

The joint initiatives of Marta Kostyuk and Katie Boulter focus on making tennis accessible to a greater number of schoolchildren and strengthening the sports infrastructure of educational institutions across Ukraine.
