Largs Early Years Centre received a visit from Santa, who told children that his reindeer were back at the North Pole getting groomed and ready for their big day.

Trishaw jaunts around the gym were enjoyed by all, including some of the staff.

And of course the magic required to make the trishaw move would only work if the children sang a Christmas song – and they put their hearts and souls into it.

Julie Tonner of the Early Years Centre said:  ‘Santa, aka Stevie, and his Elf assistant Jenny had decorated the bike with lights and he was in his full costume with music playing.

“Several groups of children were able to meet Santa in the gym hall and have a ride on the bike.

“The joy on their faces and the team was amazing. Santa and Jenny also kindly volunteered to stay to support a small group of children from Largs Primary with ASN.

“Again the teachers fed back that it was the most exciting morning for the children and they now wish to create links with Cycling Without Age Scotland Largs.

“I think Santa raised a few eyebrows as he rode back through the town.”

And it was announced the next day that the NAC Community Interest Fund has granted them the cash to purchase a second trishaw, arriving in spring 2026.
