Police are appealing for more victims to come forward after a woman was sexually assaulted on a bus heading toward Richmond Hill last month.
The incident happened on Nov. 18, sometime between 6 and 7 p.m., when the victim was seated on a northbound bus from Finch Station.
York Regional Police say a man sat next to her and allegedly touched her in a sexual manner.
The woman immediately confronted the suspect, police say, and reported what happened to the driver.
The suspect got off the bus, police said.
After fleeing, police believe the suspect travelled to Brampton, where he allegedly targeted more victims.
Police arrested the accused on Thursday, who they identified as 31-year-old Saman Salimianrizi of no fixed address. Salimianrizi is facing a sexual assault charge and two counts of breaching probation.
“At the time of these offences, Salimianrizi was on probation for similar offences which occurred in both York Region and the City of Toronto,” Friday’s release reads.
Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
