The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed a one-year extension with running back Thomas Bertrand-Hudon.
Bertrand-Hudon, who stands six feet tall and weighs in at 220 pounds, was drafted by the team 34th overall after his strong showing in the 2023 CFL combine, where he recorded the fastest 40-yard dash by a running back and the best shuttle time of the entire combine. Since then, he’s appeared in 42 games for the Green and White, rushing 64 times for 365 yards and four touchdowns.
This season, Bertrand-Hudon appeared in seven games, carrying the ball 34 times for 166 yards and catching six passes for 34 more yards. He was also a contributor on special teams, amassing six tackles and a 17-yard kickoff return.
Bertrand-Hudon, who originally hails from Quebec, spent four seasons at Delaware State from 2019 to 2022 before signing with the Riders. During his time in Delaware, he carried the ball 238 times for 1,016 yards and 10 touchdowns, along with 11 receptions for 51 yards.
