A pair of former UFC champions met on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua boxing event and the fight ended before the conclusion of the second round.

Anderson Silva, the UFC Hall of Famer and former longtime middleweight champion, finished former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in a featured cruiserweight match at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Brazil’s Silva, 50, stunned Woodley with a nifty right uppercut early in Round 2 and followed up with a couple more punches before Woodley fell to the canvas.

Woodley, 43, from Ferguson, Mo., was unable to fully recover, and the referee waved off the fight, which had been scheduled for six rounds.

Silva was initially scheduled to face former UFC rival Chris Weidman at the Most Valuable Promotions event, but Weidman was forced to withdraw after sustaining a bicep injury and Woodley stepped in on one month’s notice.

Silva has now had four boxing matches since leaving mixed martial arts in late 2020. He defeated former WBC champion Julio César Chávez Jr. and knocked out fellow former UFC champion Tito Ortiz in 2021 before losing a decision to Jake Paul in 2022.

Meanwhile, Woodley fell to 0-3 in professional boxing matches. He also lost an eight-round split decision to Jake Paul in August of 2021 before being knocked out by Paul in their rematch four months later.

Silva called out Weidman following the win. He challenged him to a match after also wishing him well in his recovery from the injury.
