A serious traffic incident is under investigation in North Bay after a pedestrian was struck by a snowplow Saturday evening, leaving the victim with life-threatening injuries

A male pedestrian is fighting for his life following an accident involving a snowplow on Highway 11 that prompted an extensive police investigation and road closure.

The North Bay Ontario Provincial Police OPP is investigating the serious collision that occurred on Highway 11 near Cedar Heights Road in North Bay.

On Saturday, December 20, at 6 p.m., North Bay OPP officers, along with Emergency Medical Services, responded to a report of the accident.

A 28-year-old North Bay man sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck by a snowplow and was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

Highway 11 north was closed for approximately eight hours while officers examined the scene.

The OPP’s Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team is assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Police say further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
