According to Joshua’s manager, Eddie Hearn, Joshua could fight again in the U.S. due to his sudden popularity in the States due to his win over Paul on Netflix.
“There’s something there, the US strategy took a big blow in the Andy Ruiz fight, and I think if we would have won that fight, we’d be able to return several times since.”
“Obviously, the size of the audience, it’s a different audience, it’s not boxing fans, every American boxing fan knows who Anthony is. These aren’t boxing fans that are suddenly going Oh, who is this guy? These are just casual fans, various demographics who don’t really know a lot about boxing and have come across this guy who speaks so well, who looks like he’s carved out of stone.”
“All day I’ve been thinking about our US strategy, and how we can capitalize on this. This changes everything… How does this strategy change moving forward? Particularly, the American market, because I know, and you know how personable he is, how likable he is. You know his brand has just been so easy to build. Obviously, with all his attributes, we can do the same thing. In America, it’s a big Market”
“This changes everything. People don’t like it when I say, there is absolutely no question that Anthony Joshua is the biggest star in world boxing.”
