“Eat Bulaga” has further solidified its mark on Philippine television as it celebrated its 46th anniversary on air.

The longest-running noontime show’s 46th anniversary episode aired on Wednesday, July 30, kicking off with a lookback at the highlights, including the evolution of its segments from 1979 to the present.

After a series of throwback clips, the hosts went onstage to perform songs that were notable throughout their history, such as SexBomb Girls’ “The Spageti Song,” “Cha-Cha Dabarkads,” “Fantastic Baby,” and its theme song, to name a few.

Several former hosts of the show also made a surprise appearance, among them Jimmy Santos, Julia Clarete, and Aiza Seguerra.

Heavily featured throughout were mainstay hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, in what seemed to be a showcase of how the show grew along with them.

“’Eat Bulaga’ is on its 46th year, 46 years of joy and happiness, and the memories of us being together. It feels good to carry such memories, and which hopefully will be remembered in the years to come,” de Leon said.
